About Us
We operate as an independent family business and live in Earswick Grange next door to Pear Tree Cottage.
We love our little part of the world and strive to make sure that all our guests enjoy their stay with us.
Pear tree cottage provides the perfect escape for both families, groups and couples looking for all the benefits of the countryside whilst being close to the beautiful city of York and all it has to explore.
Guests can book direct with us or via our AirBnB listing. We are very proud to be superhosts and a guests favourite on their site.
Earswick Grange has been right at the heart of Earswick since the 1800's. Once a thriving working farm it is now a private family home. Pear Tree Cottage was born in 2011 when previous owners converted one of the barns into what has become now our delightful little cottage.

The Martin family took over ownership of the property in the height of covid 19 in 2020. Since then the cottage has been fully refurnished with new sash windows, solid oak external doors, new bathrooms and full redecoration. Whilst Pear Tree Cottage offers all the benefits of modern living it also retains many of its original character with exposed wooden beams throughout and tasteful country style décor.

All our guests are free to check them selves in via a key lock box which gives them the flexibility to check in and out at times convenient for them without worrying if their plans change last minute (checkin after 3pm checkout 10am). Everyone who comes to stay at Pear Tree Cottage benefits from a welcome pack of essentials as well as some none essential treats all sourced from local suppliers. We believe it is those personal touches that make Pear Tree Cottage stand out from the rest.
